The Best Japanese Snack Box
One of my favorite items to give or receive are food subscription boxes. Whether it’s a meal or a snack, getting a new box every month is so fun.
Since adopting our daughter, I’ve been on a search to find more Taiwanese and Japanese snacks.
Once I finished exploring my options at our local grocery stores, I started researching subscription boxes online.
The best subscription box that my entire family enjoys is the TokyoTreat snack box from Japan.
Our bucket travel list includes visiting Japan in the future, so getting to eat authentic Japanese snacks is a fun way to talk about our future travels!
TokyoTreat Snack Box
This snack box includes around 15-20 different snacks each month, including a drink! I knew these treats were the real deal when my daughter’s eyes lit up at the packaging.
All of the packaging is in Japanese with some English depending on the brand and manufacturer. Some of the brands were quite recognizable, like Kit Kat!
For other snacks, we snapped a quick picture on our phone using Google Translate, which is an app we already use on a daily basis.
Our Favorite Snacks from TokyoTreat
If we each had to pick out a favorite Japanese snack or candy, we would all pick different ones!
The snacks themselves came in all different sizes. We had an entire family size bag of Kit Kats, as well as individual pieces of candy. It was a really great variety!
Overall, I tend to gravitate towards salty and crunchy snacks like chips, while other family members prefer sweets and candy.
We definitely took turns passing around all of the different bags of snack and candy to try out. It was hard not to sample and eat everything at once.
The TokyoTreat Packaging is Fun
Our TokyoTreat package arrived in the mail pretty quickly! I love packaging almost as much as the contents inside, and this box did not disappoint.
We’ve ordered other subscription boxes before and many times the boxes will arrive plain, brown and boring. The TokyoTreat box itself was bold, bright and definitely passed the fun vibe check.
Our daughter loved it! After seeing the box, she was ready to dive into all the different snacks and candy. We even received a ramen meal, which our daughter enjoyed.

Our daughter really misses her Asian culture and we wanted to experience more of it. We are always looking for more ways to bring more culture into our household and try new things.
Opening this box made our daughter so happy, especially when she showed us different snacks she was already familiar with eating.
This was a great family experience to try so many different Japanese snacks together. I was able to even put a few different snacks in her lunches, which I know she enjoyed.
